What Spas Should Look for When Choosing a CBD Brand
The latest industry to introduce CBD products to their clients are spas! It just makes sense that a spa- a place that consumers go to for peace and relaxation- would offer CBD products, considering their soothing nature. However, with the cannabis market saturation, it can be difficult for spas to know how to choose reputable, quality products. With this in mind, we’ve put together a list of important questions to think about when searching for a CBD brand to add to your spa!
Do they publish test results?
Reputable companies will continuously run testing on their products to gather detailed information about the contents of the product such as CBD, CBG, CBN, THC content. Testing will also find if there are any traces of pesticides, heavy metals, and biological contaminants such as mold and bacteria. One type of report that contains this information is a COA. COA stands for Certificate of Analysis. This is a report is given on a product by a non-biased 3rd party testing laboratory. So, when looking at a company’s website, it’s important to note if they release their test results so that consumers can view them. If so, pay attention to what the testing report reveals. If it’s a full spectrum product does it contain other cannabinoids? What is the date of the test results? Companies that don’t test their products or offer published test results may be hiding important information that you need to know. It’s best to avoid those companies for the safety of your business and your clients.
What are the actual ingredients?
Check the ingredients and look for anything that says hemp oil, hemp seed oil, or ariel parts. These ingredients are very different from CBD. CBD comes from the stalks, leaves, and flowers of the cannabis plant, which contain a higher concentration of CBD, while hemp comes from the seeds of the plant. Hemp has little to no CBD content, so your clients results with these products may not be ideal (or what they were hoping) if the product is hemp based. You’ll also want to know if the CBD is full or broad spectrum. The difference between the two is in the compounds that they do or don’t contain. Broad spectrum is THC free, full usually includes a small percentage of it (less than .3%).
Where is the business located?
Something to keep in mind when researching different CBD brands is where they are located. Some of the best hemp is grown in the PNW, Kentucky, and Tennessee. The farm that the company gets their hemp from matters; ask how reputable the farm is, is it family owned, how large is it, etc. The more you know about where the actual cannabis is coming from, the better! If you can’t find this information on the company’s website, that’s a red flag. Make sure to reach out to them directly to ask about where their products are grown. Typically speaking, hemp grown in America is a safer option than from other places in the world, because we have strict federal regulations in the US that growers must follow.
What makes the CBD brand stand out in the marketplace?
Brand reputation is everything in this market. Many companies can sell a product, but what is the brand’s standing in the industry? Look for reviews on the company, check out their social media channels, and make sure to take a thorough look through their website. Is the brand consistent on all channels? Are people engaging with their content? It’s important to find a company with a strong brand that stands out from the competition with credibility and a community of dedicated consumers who stand by the products.
What are the company’s values?
Similarly to wanting the company to have a stand out brand and credibility, you also want to know the values behind the company you’re supporting. The website should be able to describe how the company originated, what’s important to the company, and the mission behind it. For example, the mission statement from our website is,

The company should directly state their mission and have information on how they are fulfilling it on a regular basis.
