I’m honored to have been chosen as one of Marijuana Venture Magazine‘s 40 Under 40 Rising Stars in Cannabis. You can read my profile feature HERE. This journey has been incredible so far, and we are just getting started! I thought I’d share a little about myself so you as the consumer know why Healthy Roots is so near and dear to my heart.
Over the past 12 years I have obtained the knowledge and experience needed to cultivate cannabis. It has always been my passion to grow high quality flower that is a medicine for my family and friends. It was my dream to own a cannabis facility, be regulated like a normal business, pay taxes, and bring this medicine to the masses.
In 2015 I lost my mom to liver disease and the extreme pain management program the doctors had her on. She had no pain management alternative, fearing that if she used cannabis she would lose her insurance and medication.
This was a life changing experience for me, and I knew that God had a purpose for me in this industry. So many families are being torn apart and losing loved ones due to the failures and downfalls of Western medicine. My desire is to be a voice for these families and use my platform to raise awareness of the many healing properties of this amazing, life changing plant.
In 2017 I got my dream job working as an i-502 grower in Washington, cultivating elite strains and applying the knowledge I have obtained over the years. I was eager to learn every aspect of the industry, and developed my skills becoming an asset for their company. I felt as if I could conquer the world.
Despite my efforts, being the only woman in the grow department presented many challenges.
Additionally, I am a mother of 2 young boys. This added another layer of complexity and I had my own self doubts being both a mother and a cannabis grower. I was hard on myself because I had this deep passion for cannabis and knew it would have saved my mother’s life had she been allowed access to this alternative medicine.
A good friend of mine began growing hemp, and after testing and seeing that it was exactly like growing cannabis, I had goosebumps from head to toe and knew I had found my calling. After a lot of hard work and dedication, God has entrusted me with my business, Healthy Roots Hemp Products.
We are a company built around compassion, empathy, and truly caring about our customers. I believe in doing everything for the right reasons, with a grateful heart, and unconditional love. I have grown my business through word of mouth and customer testimonies. I pride myself in establishing a brand that consumers can trust, built on integrity and honesty. I have the opportunity to give to my community and help people find a way to alleviate their pain and stress.
Over the past two years I have operated a commercial kitchen and warehouse facility. We ensure Good Manufacturing Practices are in place, and our facility is registered with the FDA and our products display the FDA compliant nutritional facts panel.
We are halfway through our US Hemp Authority Certification, and are working on our National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) certification for our pet products line.
As previously mentioned, I have the honor of being named Marijuana Venture’s 40 Under 40 Rising Stars in the Cannabis industry (featured in their July issue), and our As Seen on TV campaign with former Shark Tank shark Kevin Harrington is about to go live. As a proud women business owner, I am certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
I am proud to have accomplished all of this and more in a short amount of time, especially in an industry that is still male-dominated. My hard work speaks for itself and I have earned the respect of my peers – both male and female. My passion and drive is to dive into the deep water, and change the stigma that is attached to the cannabis industry. My purpose is to impact our generation and bring hope to future generations through my business, which is dedicated to my mother.
THANK YOU for supporting Healthy Roots and allowing us to make this world a better place!
